FOUNDER'S NOTE

Gerald here.
I started Wuffpack after more than 20 years of living alongside dogs and realizing just how deeply they have shaped the happiness of my family and my life. They were never “just pets” but companions, teachers, and family. Wuffpack exists as my way of honoring them and giving back to dogs beyond my own home.
I’ll be honest. There was a time when I didn’t pay much attention to the nutrition or quality of the food I gave my dogs. I was careless with myself, and I treated them the same way. As long as the food was popular and easy to find, I assumed it was good enough.
That changed when my dog, Chyro, fell seriously ill at the age of nine. He became weak and refused to eat. For the first time, I felt real fear and regret. I realized how much I had taken him for granted. I promised myself that if he recovered, I would care more deeply and more intentionally.
During that time, I witnessed something that stayed with me forever. Chyro’s younger sibling, Spotty, never left his side. His quiet loyalty and care showed me a level of sincerity that only dogs seem capable of.
With the help of Dr. Anton and his team in Bandung, Chyro was hospitalized overnight and began recovering the next day. He came home stronger. From that moment on, I changed how we lived together. We focused on simple joys such as morning walks, playing at home, exploring outdoors, getting muddy, and being present. In return, my family began involving them more fully in our lives through road trips, garden days, and everyday moments. Our happiness grew as theirs did.
Chyro lived to 14 and passed away peacefully in 2021, shortly after my graduation. He left behind Spotty, who spent four more meaningful years with us. We cherished every one of them. When Spotty turned 16, aggressive tumors began to develop. Despite early care, surgery was not possible due to his age and the risks involved. When his condition worsened, I made the hardest decision of my life to end his suffering through euthanasia. I stayed with him until the very end, ensuring he was not alone and that he left this world with dignity.
Before he passed, Spotty was part of Wuffpack’s journey. He participated directly and indirectly in helping me observe, test, and curate products that prioritized comfort, safety, and long term well being. In many ways, Wuffpack carries his legacy forward.
Wuffpack is also not built alone. Our product development is shaped with the help of friends, fellow dog owners, and their dogs across Indonesia. We call this community The Pack. Their feedback, experiences, and real life use cases help us continuously refine our formulations and standards. Wuffpack is deeply rooted in community because we believe dogs deserve better not just in theory, but in everyday reality.
Wuffpack is not about creating products for dogs. It is about creating products that are genuinely good for dogs. Every Wuffpack product is developed to a standard that I am personally comfortable giving to my own dogs. This often means higher costs and a higher price point compared to many existing products on the market. But we believe in fair pricing for honest quality, and we fully stand behind what we make.
Our long term vision is to bring Wuffpack to dogs around the world as a trusted option for products that are safe, free from unnecessary additives and preservatives, and suitable even for long term use.
All Wuffpack products are produced locally in Indonesia, in facilities that also manufacture food grade products. This allows us to closely monitor, control, and maintain quality at every step. We are not a big brand, but we are committed to a big mission of improving the quality of life for dogs, one product at a time.
